Music Performance and Art Project at Piedmont Gardens

On January 28th, 2024, Art from Heart was happy to organize another music performance and art project at Piedmont Gardens, a local nursing home in Oakland, California. Many of our members are passionate about music and other forms of art, and we strive to use our artistic skills to enhance our community. We performed pieces on the piano including "Moonlight Sonata" and a Nocturne by Chopin, sang "Like the Movies" by Laufey on the guitar, performed the Kuchipudi dance "Jathiswaram" (an Indian Classical dance form), and more. We also had an origami mobile project where we helped seniors color origami shapes, and later assembled them into colorful mobiles for Piedmont Gardens to hang. Overall, it was a very rewarding and memorable experience with the nursing home, and we hope to organize more events with them soon!
