WHAT IS PVSA?
In 2003, the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation founded the President’s Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) to recognize the important role of volunteers in America’s strength and national identity. This award honors individuals whose service positively impacts communities in every corner of the nation and inspires those around them to take action, too (Source - PVSA Website).

RECEIVING PVSA AWARDS
A CERTIFYING ORGANIZATION
A Certifying Organization is authorized to review, verify, and award the President’s Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) to eligible volunteers who meet the required service hours within a designated 12-month period.
PVSA AWARDS
Only Certifying Organizations can certify eligibility and order official PVSA awards.
AGE CLASSIFICATION
Hours Required to Earn Awards in Each Age Group. The required volunteering hours vary by age range. minimum age for volunteering is 5 years.
ELIGIBILITY
1. Must be - United States citizen or lawful permanent resident of the United States (i.e., green card holder)
2. Must be at least five years old
3. Completes eligible service within a 12-month period (for annual Bronze, Silver, and Gold Awards) and over a lifetime (for Lifetime Achievement Awards)
